Giuseppe Lauria
Journalist and Moderator
Giuseppe Lauria, editor-in-chief of WEINWISSER since 2016, has further developed the former newsletter in terms of content and appearance and successfully repositioned it - with a clear focus on international fine wines and the leading heads and market mover behind the wines. To this end, he and his team conduct in-depth interviews with the industry's top decision-makers. Under his leadership, WEINWISSER has advanced far beyond Bordeaux Grand Crus to become one of the most renowned wine trade magazines and a valued partner for Fine Wines and exclusive wine tastings. Thus Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, overseas and even Bordeaux play an even greater role. Previously, Giuseppe Lauria was responsible for the prestigious Rheingau region for almost a decade as chief taster and author of the well-known Gault Millau WeinGuide. In addition, he has been publishing for more than 15 years as a connoisseur and experienced expert of the German and international wine scene in several leading international wine magazines with a focus on the top wines from Germany, Italy, Bordeaux, Austria, South Africa and Australia.
Wine Expertise
I have been writing regularly about Europe's wine and gastronomy landscape since 2004, previously for long-gone wine magazines such as Weingourmet and DIVINO, and since 2007 for the renowned WeinWisser, of which I have been editor-in-chief since 2016.
Wine Moderation
I regularly moderate exclusive wine tastings, both at trade fairs such as ProWein and expert conferences such as the International Riesling Symposium, as well as for gastronomy events.
